The Échiré dairy cooperative was founded in 1894 and has been producing ever since a butter which has a subtle and exquisite taste, quite unlike anything else. The secret of this delicate butter does not come from the cows but is due to the grass they eat. For this reason, Échiré butter is made from milk collected within a specific area, officially designated by the Société de Laiterie Coopérative d'Échiré. By 1904, Échiré butter was considered among the best in France and the people behind Échiré butter have since worked to make it the best in the world. Nowadays, the dairy cooperative is still defending the key values that have formed the basics of their reputation: natural products, the finest flavour, quality, respect for the environment and consumers.
